A post was split to a new topic: Can I market a rental property prior to the 1st July 2020 at which time mandatory electrical testing must be in place or being enacted?
Advice needed: my last landlord is withholding the deposits of three ex-tenants till a new tenancy agreement is signed by the current occupants because it’s a joint tenancy. Is this legal? It’s been over three months since I left the property.
From what I can see online they can only withhold an individual’s share of the deposit if there is not yet a new person to replace you who has paid their share. But they can’t withhold it because they want the current tenants to sign a new agreement - is this right?
