I will be renting a 2bed room house from 23rd july and I have a frnd who will be added on the contract from 10 August. We wont have to pay the deposit or anything else other then the agreed upon rent right?

Landlords cant just add people to a tenancy after its begun, so you would both need to be on the contract from the beginning if you both want tenancy rights. Of course your landlord may not know this and could end up in a mess. Not really your concern though
me and landlord have spoken about it and he said he will add my frnd is the contract on august as he will move in that date.
My question is since i paid my rent on 23july anf next rent due should be 23 aug, but because my frnf is being added in august 13 do we have to start paying monthly rent from 13 or 23 ?
Just have separate contracts for each of you?
No he will just be added to existing contract as it is a 2bhk
You may not be aware, Openrent’s Rent Now has a renewal facility which allows the adding/removing of tenants/guarantor’s whilst continuing the original tenancy.

@Christopher32 it continues the tenancy but OR actually create a new contract replacing the old one.
Either way the LL can’t charge @Ahan twice for rent due from 13th to 22nd.
If the LL creates a new contract starting from 13th (eg if you and friend will pay a higher total rent pcm from 13th) then LL either has to refund you for the rent you paid on old contract for 13th to 22nd, or with your agreement use that as a contribution towards the new month’s rent 13th to 12th.
