So I have viewed a property paid the holding deposit the person who did viewing is not the landlord she said she is working with them they asked for bank statements, references, guarantor , bank statements from where I lived before, after they told me they won’t be using open rent anymore they are doing it privately after I send my rest of info is this normal I am not from the uk anyone can give me advice . Then when I check the address it is coming up as a holiday rental not a long term let , forget they sent bk the holding deposit and wants to do it privately what is up with that
For tenants the safest way is always thru Openrent or an Agent . More security for a tenant . However some landlords do it all themselves to save fees. It is up to the tenant to check them out.
