Amending Tenancy Agreement

Is it possible to amend / add points to the tenancy agreement? I will be letting out an apartment in a retirement complex and want to state in the contract that the rent covers the service charge and ground rent and that I am liable for these payments not the tenant. Or is this already a given?

When you say “the tenancy agreement” which one are you referring to? If it’s one you’re drafting, you can add anything you like into it. Just bear in mind that unfair or unreasonable clauses won’t hold up if challenged in law.

The clause you want to add sounds standard though.

If you are using Openrent, then Yes you can add custom clauses at the time you generate the contract.

It is a given because they would be prohibited payments under the Tenant Fees Act, but a decent tenancy agreement will list the bills the tenant is responsible for. This is a legal document so dont draft anything yourself, use an established template such as the Government model, Openrent or N R L A.
