Can we get a refund of deposit within 2 weeks of payment due to change of mind?

Hi, we made a Deposit payment direct to landlord on 8/4/2019 for one of the property we found on OpenRent. After a few days, we change our mind and decided not to proceed. Can we get a refund for the Deposit made?

Hi Zeferina,

If you pay a holding deposit to a landlord and you change your mind then you would not normally expect to get your money back. However, there is no harm in asking for a refund.
