Concerns about providing phone number

Hi
I understand the reason for asking landlords to provide a phone number is to reduce spam and prove I’m based in the UK. But I don’t want anyone calling me of texting me; I prefer email especially with a large number of replies. I’ve provided and verified my UK number but want to keep it private and only allow replies to the advert via email (as is possible on other platlforms). How do I do this?
I’ve already unchecked the option regarding SMS updates about viewings.
Thank you
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

We obviously appreciate and acknowledge your privacy concerns and we have therefore developed two ways for tenants to enquire about your property:

Message Landlord:

  • Email sent to your inbox (it’s worth checking your spam/junk folder if you can’t see these). You can reply directly to the email or else via your enquiries page.
  • No text alert sent.
  • Contact details of both parties remain anonymous to protect your privacy.

Booking a viewing:

  • Email alert sent to your registered account.
  • Text alert sent to your mobile in sociable hours - these can be turned off, as you have already done.
  • Contact details passed on to the tenant once you have arranged a viewing on OpenRent so that you efficiently manage the viewing.

Thanks,
Usmaan
