Hello, I decided to manage my property via open rent and terminated my contract with the agency.
Now the situation is that the apartment is already with tenants ( 2 years contract) and the deposit is registered at TDS. Now Im wondering how to proceed?
Is there a way to register it at open rent? I cant not find a service covering this. Or does it make more sense to wait until the tenancy ends and ask the agent to return the deposit?
Regards
Openrent is for new tenancies, not existing ones.
When the fixed term expires, you could issue a new Openrent tenancy, but it’s not straight forward, as the tenant would have to pay a new holding deposit, security deposit & first months rent etc, just as if they are a new tenant.

Can I suggest some landlord training to keep you safe.

Hi @Michael86,
We offer some guidance on moving tenancies onto OpenRent here:
The current deposit that is protected would therefore need to be refunded to the tenants, or placed back into your account by the deposit scheme in order to be paid directly to us. Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to transfer the deposit directly between schemes as part of Rent Now. Your current deposit scheme should be able to assist in allowing the deposit to be released and ready to be paid to us as part of Rent Now with minimal hassle
