Deposit transfer between management companies

We currently have a tenant in our flat who’s tenancy is coming up to the end. This was all done through a different management company. They have a deposit held but won’t release it until there is proof that the new deposit scheme has been set up. As far as I can read, the deposit scheme with open rent is only set up when the tenant pays the deposit.

How can the tenant transfer the deposit from the old scheme to the new one so she doesn’t have to pay and then get the old one back?

Thanks in advance

I suggest you handle the deposit separately, but make sure you know and follow the rules.

Not really sure what you mean.

You wrote the tenancy is coming to an end. If the tenant is moving out it should be refunded. If they are staying put, why are you changing deposit scheme? Is the deposit for some reason held by the managing agent?
