Keen to hear experiences regarding emergency cover. Did/do you take it out? Is it worth it? What are alternative pathways to ensure you are covered if something does go wrong? e.g. set money aside / have regular tradies on standby ?

been renting numerous properties since 1998 and can count one hand the number of “emergencies” I’ve had. None were actual “emergencies”. In only one case did I have to provide some oil filled rads to tide over a tenant and family until the boiler could be fixed (they showered at her mother’s place in the interim). Those rads were far cheaper than even one year of cover.
We have trusted trades for every service so we just give them a call.
