We were issued a section 21 with our tenancy ending 27 Jan. At the end the landlords said they were happy to extend until end May. We have now found a property. What notice would we be required to give? A month from today? 2 weeks? Until 21 Feb?

If nothing is mentioned in your rental contract, and assuming you pay your rent monthly, I’d suggest you give 1 months notice to your Landlord. If the contract does not stipulate how this should be served, I’d suggest adding a few days onto this, and giving notice in writing by recorded delivery.
If your Landlord wants you out anyway, they might be happy to let you go sooner.
Your tenancy agreement will probably tell you what notice you have to give, but if not its a minimum of one month expiring at the end of a tenancy period.
