Quick question with hopefully a quick answer 
Had a brand new boiler installed in May this year, came with a Gas Safe building regs certificate. Do I still need to get a gas safety check before I rent the house out or does the building regs cert cover me for the first year?
Legally a building certification is not a landlord certificate also known as a CP12 also the building control certificate only shows the installation meets current building regulation, it doesn’t say the gas installation is sound and to standard, it’s also only for that day it was installed anything could have happened since May so you will need an up-to date certificate before they move in
