Government Registration Scheme and LA Registration Scheme

The LA for my rental property already runs a registration scheme similar to that being introduced by the government, on which I am registered. Will I have to register for the new scheme as well, or will the new national scheme replace the LA scheme.

Not sure if you’re talking about a Council Selective Licensing scheme, but if so, both are set to continue.

Thank you for responding David122. I’m referring to the London Borough of Islington Property Licensing scheme. If that’s a Council Selective Licensing scheme, does that continue alongside the Government Registration Scheme?

Yes. The Government & local councils love unnecessary duplicated procedures, as they can charge for each of them.
