I am bemused, baffled and bewildered I am currently in a situation which basically is One Man and his Dog and i am seeking a suitable property to rent a 1-2 something or other ground floor outside space c/w parking …Simple? apparently not Having explained as best one can what I want, make that need, I am getting flyers offering property in New Builds usually umpteenth floors up, in any event no pets permitted. On the odd occasion i find what might be a suitable property only to find that when I enquire that Pets are verbotten I was offered a room to share with assorted students .
I am also finding that when i speak with Estate Agents as soon as a dog is mentioned their interest rapidly fades….and my search goes cold very quickly…
One Landlord allowed pets at £20 per week per animal extra…Disgraceful.
I think it is about time that these Estate Agents actually start taking notice of what their proposed clients are seeking. OK if they haven’t got suitable property on their books tell the people…
Nothing wrong with that .Pets can make mess and smell out the house Every pet owner thinks their pet is the best. Not so. That is cloud cuckoo land. Wait till you get the rest of the views
I charged £100 per month extra for one dog
12 months x£100 didn’t cover the damages by the dog!!!
I wasn’t informed of the dog and don’t allow them because of my allergy
I have allergies and spent one night unable to breathe ( no amount of money is worth gasping for air )
If there is ever a next time it will be more
The smell ( several months void, and therefore loss of rent, to get rid of smell)
Carpet thick with hair( needed carpet cleaning ) , damage to decor from clawing ( redecorating the house)
Damage to enamel coated iron bath tub from claw marks ( needs replacing )
