I’m not able to reach my landlord. I’ve paid my holding deposit and signed my contract. My reference check was still pending and I’ve messaged her a week ago regarding the same via open rent but I didn’t get any response, she usually replies in a day. I’ve also messaged her via Sparerooms which is where the original listing for the house was posted. I only have her email id to which I’ve sent a mail today. My move in date is in a week and I’m worried. Please help.
How & to whom did you pay your Holding deposit? Was this the equivalent of 1 weeks rent amount only?
Had you viewed the property & met the Landlord?
I paid the holding deposit via open rent, that’s the name it shows on my bank statement. It was just lil less than a week’s rent. I met the landlord and viewed the property, she seemed sweet. I had previously sent her my contact number and email id on Sparerooms, she sent me her email id which I guess she just uses to manage property related stuff. But I don’t have her contact number. I’m thinking I’ll wait one more day if not try reaching out to the current tenants by visiting the place and leaving a letter: (

Yep the open rent website. On my bank statement it shows as open rent now.

It looks like in your case the landlord’s signature is still outstanding on the contract. Where there are signatures outstanding we will chase the relevant parties daily until the contract has been signed by all parties.
Delays in contract signing may also mean delays in paying the final balance and moving in.
We’d recommend to keep chasing up the landlord and we’ll do the same.
