I am moving to OpenRent from using an agency, with a tenant already in situ. I clicked on ‘no deposit’ but she is being asked to pay a £150 holding deposit, which is unnecessary. Can anyone advise, please?
If you are using rentnow, the tenant has to pay a holding deposit of 1 weeks rent.. This is then deducted from the first months rent and any security deposit you asked for which they pay to OR after they have signed the contract. This is not flexible nor negotiable. It’s just how RentNow works.

Ps you will also have to return security deposit under existing tenancy if you are ending it, and get a new one sent to OR
