I have served notice, do I need to end tenancy too? It’s on periodic tenancy at the moment

My tenant is on a rolling contract currently and I have had problems with the rent recently and I have recently inspected the property. They haven’t been looking after it very well and I am potentially wanting to move in there next. I have served notice (section 21) but am wondering do I need to end the tenancy for that date too on open rent?
I am a little worried she will stay in there and try and not pay rent for the next 2 months

ending the tenancy on Openrent is purely administrative for your own records. It means nothing, & has no legal affect, so in this situation I wouldn’t until they have moved out.

Thank you for your advice, if I don’t hear anything back from the tenant after giving notice, is it worth messaging, emailing or writing to her just on her thoughts or?

Dont wind her up or she may decide to not move then it could take a year to get her out with courts and bailiffs.

Yeah I understand thank you
