I have lived in a rented house for nearly 11 years, the landlord informing us at the end of the year that he wants to sell. We have had a lot of problems here, and the landlord’s attitude has not been great. We asked for free insulation, he refused. As such, we have a pretty severe mould problem with paint coming off walls etc. I am also pretty sure it has caused me eye problems and my partner chest issues. His answer was ‘i dont want holes poked in my house’. We asked for an extra month as he wanted us out on boxing day, he gave us one extr month, but increased the rent of this month ny 22%.
I am concerned that when we leave, he will not return the bond. Does anyone have any advice on this please?
You can contact the deposit scheme where its held and ask them to intervene.
