I’ve got scammed by Kaan Danis (DEA Lettings) he got my 6 months rent in once plus deposit and disapeared. No more respond for my calls texts. He said today 1pm to check in and when I went there 1 pm, there was one more couple waiting for check in to same flat. 275 Downham Way. Please be awere that kind of scams.
I’m sorry I don’t really have any advice but I couldn’t just read and not comment. This is heartbreaking to read, I do hope you manage to get your money back.

Openrent should have his details. Call the Police and speak to your bank.
Thank you Darrell2, there is nothing to say that much. I sent my passport and wife’s BRP card details. I hope he can’t do anything bad from these details.
I report to OpenRent support and called police. Honestly police is not active and helpful that kinda criminals. They just told me to fill a form actionfraud.police.uk
Did you view the property in person and meet with the Landlord.?
Yes, we booked a date for view and he came to show me around and we discussed about re-painting and refurbishment.
Having checked Companies House he is the only eprson listed in that company also the address given for it is what looks like a residential flat
Did you speak to your bank?
He done the same thing to me I gave him half in the bank then I told him to meet me for the rest in cash and I held him till the police came and forced him to pay back all u guys helped me get my money back I hope u can call the police and get him too because he’s known for this

Yes I found that as well. Obviously he is a scammer.
Because he paid back the money they let him go but I showed them this chat this happened yesterday 2nd of may and Kaan is his actual name
He scammed me on the same property. 275 Downham Way BR1 5EN.
I reported to the Police as well, i met Mehmet last Tues when we both knew we were scammed.
I reported to OpenRent, and they told me they have alerted everyone that ever inquired about the property that he is a fraud.

This will help us also to recover our money. At present, we were just asked to report at Action Fraud.

Yes actual name is Kaan Ali Danis and he told me he is a Cypriot Turkish guy. And I found some informations like, he was working in Andrews Estate Agent as a employee and he has some good feedbacks from that times. After that he opened his own company which name is DEA Lettings.
