I have a property which has been let for a few years, the tenant has moved on and I would like to sell but the market seems slow so I may let again for a while after tidying it up.What are people’s thoughts on using local council schemes to let through? Bexley in this case, they offer bonuses and cover damage to a certain level
You will have no control over quality of tenant. Could have literally anyone in there.
Councils claim to put property back to standard and mantain it though personally I wouldn’t go near it, too much risk with tenant not leaving etc

By definition, the tenants that the Council will use it for are those who would not be able to secure a tenancy on their own.

Do not do it. You will get no support if a problem arises

Consensus of the replies leans me to the thought of all those horror stories of tenants in council properties that are neglected.
I’d stay clear for peace of mind is invaluable.
