My landlady has refused to give me the keys

So there’s a few lessons here:

  1. Holding deposit. Take it and keep it if the do not move in.
  2. Rent at security deposit at the same time or as soon as they have signed contract, at most within 24 hrs. Take it and keep it if they don’t move in.

I take all Monies FIRST and THEN sign the contract at same time.

Normally this things should be written in the contract, and as far as I know there is no legal way your landlady can change her mind whenever she wants if there is a contract signed by both sides. You need to take a close look at the contract and search for this to be written there. If I were you, I would take a closer look at the contract and if I would fined there something telling me I should be noticed with a period of 2 or more weeks before leaving the place, I would call a locksmith and change the locks so the landlady could not enter my home, in case she comes with an officer I would show them the contract. Just be sure to find a good locksmith, I can recommend hillingdon locksmith as this one is really good and the work was done asap for a good price.

What happened in the end - are you in the property?
