I always credit check prospective tenants. I understand the criteria that’s checked, but I’m not sure how this is done for those who have only been living and working in the UK for a couple of years - and presumably won’t be on the electoral register etc.
I find that many of my prospective tenants have not been credit checked previously and I have to explain what this means and what will be checked. Because I’m not certain how this will pan out for someone who has not been in the UK for long, I’m not sure how best to explain it. Any help / advice welcome.
NB: I always do a ‘right to rent’ check so I already know about that.
