Open tent renewal

So I’ve set up renewal but tenant hasn’t received it. How long does it take for it to be sent via open rent ?

I’ve never used it, as I generally allow tenancies to go periodic, rather than renew them. However, I’d expect it would be almost instant, so would recommend checking tenants email address & they to check junk email folder.

So how do you propose a rent increase using open rent? I’ve always done increase on renewal and resent a revised 12mth contract to tenant.

Personally, I send a letter & ask them to sign & return to accept. I send this via online signature portal myself, but I know others that follow similar process by mail. They then pay the new amount. There needs to be no more formal way. I don’t use Openrent to collect monthly rent, so I don’t need to involve them.

Some would prefer to send a section 13 notice.

Renewal ties you both in for another fixed term, and may Landlords recommend against this.

@Heidi2 - This should be sent immediately. The tenant should also be able to see the renewal from their dashboard after logging in.

Can you ask them to check their spam/junk folder for their email? And failing that to login to their OpenRent account and proceed from there?
