Myself and my partner have been offered a property, we currently have the same landlord so he supplied two perfect references however mine failed with no other explanation other than ‘Not a reliable referee’
Maybe some AI detected identical wording and flagged as suspicious.
Or if referencing using open banking looked for regular payments of the rental amount but didn’t find because only one of you paid the rent monthly.
Ask the new LL to query the referencing report results and why the prev LL was considered unreliable.
