Rent increase when tenant disagrees

I’ve proposed a reasonable rent increase to my tenant but he has rejected it even after I have explained and given him examples that show that the new rent is below similar properties in the area.

It looks like RentNow will not ask for the new rental amount without his agreement to pay. What is the reasoning behind this?

I could issue S13. Will RentNow ask for the new rent amount after this is served ?

Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated.

I like these kind of questions.
They are critical points and highlight the issues with rent now.
(Have yet to use rent now, I like having the control)…

I think you are referring to rent collection. Rent now doesnt require you to use rent collection.

Openrent rent cant ask for increased rent as it isnt due without either tenant agreement or a valid section 13 notice. If tenant isn’t agreeing you would need to issue a s13 for higher rent to become due. I dont use rent collection so not sure about how this is then implemented but must be a way on system.
