Rent now can tenant pay deposit separately

Hi
I have found 3 tenants for a 6 bed house contract and they want to pay their deposit separately in to rent now. Rent now is only taking one deposit from all. How can i get round this? Otherwise i will lose tenants
Can i take their deposits individually and click on open rent to add them to the contract?

If you are signing one tenancy, then they will all be jointly responsible for the tenancy. I think the RentNow 1 weeks deposit can only be paid by one person, and they will then enter the names of the 3 tenants on their application.

If they will ‘walk away’ as a result of having to jointly combine 1 weeks rent into a single payment, then I would suggest you are best without them. How will they work together on the the other household bills & responsibilities?

If you are creating 3 seperate AST’s, ie for individual rooms etc, then you will need to create x3 Openrent adverts and have them each reply to one, and pay their individual RentNow deposit.

I trust you are aware of the HMO regulations if the 3 people are not from the ‘same family’.

Thanks for the info.
They are all very nice people but they haven’t met yet. So i guess there is a natural caution when renting property.
Usually i just a get a group of 6 but this year the groups are not happening …for some reason
Yes we have a large hmo licence
Its just over the years i have found putting everyone in the same contract means that they do work together within the household better …as opposed to renting rooms where people dont think they have to commit to looking after household
Have a great sunday !

If they dont know each other then I would suggest that its fairer to give them individual room only contracts that includes a licence to use the common parts. They can then pay everything individually. It also means that you could slot-in additonal tenants for the vacant rooms as and when you find them. I dont know if Openrent have a model tenancy agreement for this, but there are plenty about. Check the landlord associtaions. Otherwise you are making complete strangers legally responsible for each others rent and property damage.

Openrent do have a model tenancy agreement for such situations. I have used them personally.
