My partner and i are both self employed i am payed only in cash. My partner sometimes works for his dad’s company which his dad pays him his wages through bank transfer and other jobs are cash in hand. His bank transfer payments from his dad are more than the rent but i’m not sure we will still qualify. We can pay 2 months rent in advance and we do have a guarantor who rents and owns 2 properties. What is the likelihood we will be accepted as tenants?
Presumably you pay tax on your income and can provide sa302 to provide proof of income? If not you will struggle with most landlords.
I explained my situation and i have been offered a viewing, do u think this means they don’t mind the situation?
Ask them when you view.
Being paid in cash is fine. The issue is if you try & dodge the income being taxed by not declaring it to HMRC.
If it’s properly declared, your self assessment will act as proof of income.
If you are not declaring your income, I would never take it into consideration. Thats a consequence of your own choosing.
