Hi can you operate a rolling contract through open rent, my tenants 12 month contract ends in February and he has requested a new month to month one…?
Thats what happens automatically if you dont “renew” the tenancy.

A rolling or periodic tenancy is the default once the fixed term expires. There is no new physical contract which needs signing, it just happens.
The periodic tenancy just continues on the same terms as the fixed.

You can make the initial period of the tenancy 1 month if you wish it to be rollong periodic from the start. I dont know if the Openrent system allows this, but you could check with them.
