I would like to let my property short term only . Ideally unfurnished. I really do not want to get involved in AST agreements. Can anyone give me
any advice please
Firstly, no short term tenant is going to want unfurnished. If they are shelling out for furniture, they want it long term. Secondly, unless you let to someone who can prove to you that they have their main home elsewhere, then its going to be an AST whatever document you give them as tenancy types turn on the facts not the paperwork. Unless you let your property as a holiday home, serviced accommodation or you’re a resident landlord, you don’t really have a choice.
You need to be very careful as it sounds as though you don’t know enough tenancy law to keep you out of trouble, and the consequences can be severe.
