I have been using OpenRent for over ten years, and the ability to book gas safety or EICR inspections has significantly simplified managing my properties.
However, in recent years, I have observed that while suppliers promptly acknowledge job requests, they often do not follow through with arranging a date and time with tenants. This has resulted in me having to cancel and seek alternative suppliers. For example, this week, an electrician failed to arrive at the agreed time. He attempted to contact the tenant to complete the job earlier, but since the tenant was at work, he arrived ahead of schedule, took a photo of the front door, charged a call-out fee, and did not perform the job at the scheduled time.
I have reported these issues to OpenRent multiple times, but there has been no resolution. This ongoing situation has caused significant delays in arranging inspections.
To improve the service, I recommend OpenRent implement a supplier rating system and provide supplier contact details for better transparency. Introducing a penalty system for suppliers who do not attend inspections or fail to arrange appointments promptly would also help address these challenges, as current practices are leading to a poor experience for landlords.
