Hi, a prospective tenant has requested a tenancy as follows, to allow him to have a crossover between tenancies, for moving in logisitics & coinciding with future paydays.
The tenancy to start on the 8th September, with the first payment covering 5 weeks up to 15th October. Then all due dates being 15th of each month.
Is this usual, any thoughts and experiences gratefully received

Its not a great idea to have the tenancy periods and the payment dates out of sync. It can cause confusion wrt applicable dates when serving notices. I’d suggest stick with 8th as the formal date for both, but have an informal arrangement, (preferably verbal) that you will accept payment on 15th as not being late.
I think this might be a question for Openrent to answer. My experience is that their system is quite fixed, but I have never tried to vary the payment date.
slight word of caution. It gives the impression that the tenant might not have much of a financial buffer.
