I’ve been using the same builder to maintain my property for a number of years, he’s brilliant, but my tenants have fallen out with him, they can be a bit tricky, everything has to be on their terms. They say they don’t want to let him in the property as they feel unsafe. Can they do this? I have spent years building a good relationship with this builder, what rights do I/my tenants have over something like this? Thanks
Can you not offer to be present when the builder is there just thinking they may be happier then
Not really, I don’t live in the area unfortunately
Why? You haven’t given us the full story here.
Luella Did you ask Why they do not feel safe?
What do the tenants not want the builder or you to find out ?
This feels like something you have missed from the post
What reason do your tenants have for.not feeling safe
I am (possibly wrongly) assuming your tenants are a couple and are M FM I could possibly understand a lone female being WARY of a builder coming in (although not feeling safe and being wary are too different things)
Have they had issues with him in the past? Has there been any issues?
Are they trying to prevent him from attending as they are doing something contrary to the TA?
And in all fairness to the Tenants IF there is a reason to.feel unsafe you need to know and.not use the builder it MAY be that he knows you live a distance away and that you have built up a good working relationship so is taking advantage
Definately worrh.a conversation with the tenants
