Tennant notice at the end of a fixed term contract

Hi as a first time landlord (Wales)I am approaching the last month of a fixed contract
Does the contract holder need to serve me notice if so how much

Or what am I required to do

I’m not familiar with the rules in Wales, so others will likely reply, but I would expect this information will be available if you read your tenancy agreement / contract. Does the agreement not show this?

so where did the contract come from and why did it not surprise you before you signed it?

In England, in general terms, you don’t do anything at the end of a fixed term if you want to simply let it go periodic. If the T wants to leave in England then they can literally hand back keys on the last day of the fixed term. Typically though, they’d give you at least a month’s warning but they don’t technically have to do so if they want to leave on the last day of a fixed term.

In Wales, I have no idea.
