The guarantor provided by family members has already been credit checked but now having to pay again?

Hello

Hoping for some guidance

A family of 3 are moving into a home potentially (Father, Mother and Son).

I conducted an initial credit check on the Father but due to the other family members not working (Mother) and son (student). They have stated the father as the guarantor. But now I am being asked again to pay to check the father?

Any help?

@Cassandra4 Your post makes no sense

Who exactly is moving in

Who are going to be named as tenants (jointly responsible for paying the rent )

Who is actually going to pay?

Have you checked their credit or their income too?

It all sounds fishy - you can’t have the tenant also as the guarantor.

Best find someone else who passes and who doesn’t try to put forward a tenant as a guarantor too. Sounds like they can’t afford it and are pretending the father can be a fake guarantor to try to persuade you it doesn’t matter. They are wasting your time

Good luck

the father wants to be his own guarantor???

You have not mentioned affordability - can the father easily pay the rent with a secure job and income? salary at least 3 times the monthly rent?

And yes, Tenant cannot be a gurantor. You can have an external gurantor. Another adult with income to cover and homeowner.
