Unauthorised listing - Rent 2 Rent Company

I have a serious problem with a rent-to-rent company. They rent entire properties and then sub-lets individual rooms.

I had an agreement with this rent-to-rent company, which has now expired, but they have failed to return the property as agreed.

I don’t understand how rogue operators who do not have authority who do not have sign tenancies beyond the date are allowed to list properties on OpenRent?

Rogue operators should not be allowed on OpenRent. It is unfair to tenants who who find rooms through platforms like OpenRent, only to later discover that the company they rented from had no legal right to offer the accommodation. It leaves tenants in a difficult and uncertain situation.

There’s also the risk of these rent-to-rent companies taking tenants’ money and then disappearing, leaving them stranded. This particular company has no client money protection, which makes the situation even dangerous.

The Rent to Rent company claiming dubious grounds to continue renting, but we don’t need shoody company with shoddy business practices.

You will need legal advice from a specialist housing lawyer or eviction company. Im sorty to say thst it was a big mistake to get involved in Rent to Rent.

It is a long story, but it was my letting agent who introduced me to them. They responded to the advert.

Letting agents get kickbacks for recommending rent to rent companies. You may want to consider you future with this agent.
