I was just wondering what the legal situation is around getting someone else to post our property on their Openrent account and effectively managing the property for us. Is this above board?
I cant answer whether Openrent will allow it, but the person will become an agent, so will need to register with one of the agent redress schemes. They should also get special insurance and may need a client money protection bank account if the collect money for you.
Another possibility is that you rent the property to this person, and then allow them to both sublet and manage it. Of course the rent you receive will be discounted to make it worth their while.
