I am doing the listing for my sister in the Terms is allowed?

Hi there,

I am doing the listing for my sister who owns the flat. I am not an agent but has an account with OpenRent and used the site previously once before.

After completing the details in the listings I reached the Terms & Conditions.
In the Open Rent Terms, It says “To confirm that I am the landlord and that all details are correct”. I am not the landlord but my sister is, she and me agrees on the terms. She has a proof of owner ship and I can upload that.

Is this ok to still tick and Accept the Terms? If I am not the landlord and doing this on behave of my sister? I shall be doing the viewings and probably deal with the management by myself.

If not, are there alternatives?

Many thanks.

This should be acceptable. You will basically be managing the property and acting as your Sisters agent. On the tenancy agreement you would name your Sister as the landlord and yourself as the managing agent acting on her behalf.

Thank you so much dear Chris

Openrent is not set up to allow agents to post properties. It is for Landlords only, so it might not be as simple as you suggest.

I don’t think so actually.

I think the account and the listing must be in the name of the owner of the property (you have to send them a copy of the deed I believe).

Who actually manages it on the other hand I don’t think they care about.

I would create an e-mail and an account in your sister’s name and just do it that way
