I find it hard to understand how a wall mounted boiler can possibly be sitting on the floor? Do the pipes come up through the floorboards and into the boiler? Maybe it should actually be sited in the room below on the wall, but they wanted to keep it outside that room,so instead put it on the floor of the room above? Is this an actual room or a loft space? The whole thing sounds so strange.

I have used Boxt and Heatable in the past and they are both excellent, fair and competitive. I’d start there.

That price seems high, unless you need a big boiler. If previous contractors have certified the boiler ok, I think I would want to keep an open mind for now. Are these contractors on the Worcester accredited installer list? Can you speak to Worcester directly or look at the online installation manual yourself to get at least an idea that the installation was really wrong? Do you really need a new boiler, or can you have this one reinstalled properly? No answers here, but if Worcester have an accredited installer list, I think you might start with them (accredited can cost more, but hopefully they will have a better idea of what is required).

I’d say about £1,800, if you shop around for a boiler and have a fit only price.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Vaillant, for an installer of their boilers, the boiler efficiency, longevity eg 12 years and still going strong, which is made in the same factory as Viessmann,
their UK customer service and technical helpline, for Gas Safe engineers, which is second to none. http://www.vaillant.co.uk
If you own in London, David Haggar of Gas Safety Check Ltd, in Hackney E5, deals a lot with landlords and charged me £665, fit only. I bought the boiler from Plumbase, Islington N7.
Boiler fitted in 3 hours by David’s Amazing and super bright engineer.

Does the price include same location boiler swap or moving to a different location? Mine has to be moved to a different location from current location on the floor to the same wall in the same room due to the difficulty of the boiler location sitting on the floor recommended by the contractors.

The price was quoted in June my last year, installed in three hours on 21/06/2024 and paid for,on a mastercard via Quick Books that evening.
I believe it is David Hager rather than Haggar. Looked him up on Google. He’s resigned as director from several companies he started including Gas Safety Check Ltd. Not a good sign in most circumstances. However, if he is Gas Safe registered you will have recourse if things aren’t right.
