We bought our ONE very modest rental flat with the proceeds of a very unexpected inheritance. Yes, I suppose you might say that not everyone has an inheritance; well I didnât know it was coming to me, I had no idea and once it arrived I felt I should do something responsible with it. So the flat was a) a home for the money my aunt so kindly left me and b) a home for someone wishing to rent. I donât consider I have fleeced anyone, the flat was for sale for several weeks before we made an offer - it didnât have a label on it saying âfor parasitic landlords onlyâ so anyone could have bought it and we always put the rent at below market value.
Anyway when the tenants moved out, we decided to sell it as we are getting too old now to want to bother with all the legislation - especially with the socialists about to take power. So it is now SSTC to a first-time buyer . So there you are, one leeching landlord gone. You will be pleased.
