Benefits and deposits

Hi all,

I’ve got a prospective tenant who’s on benefits (universal credit and housing benefits).

I need to know:

  1. Whether I can take a deposit?
  2. Can I get rent insurance and is it advisable for tenants on benefits?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

you can take a deposit >>Get a Gurrantor always. Do credit check always for anyone. Dont know about insuance. Remember the rent money goes to them and not you
