Best Landlord Accreditation scheme?

I’ve been instructed by Lewisham council to become an accredited landlord?

Can anyone recommend which accreditation body is best? I have the option of:

London Landlord Accreditation Scheme

National Residential Landlords Association

Property Mark

Safe Agent

Or maybe any other recommendations. Tbh I don’t think I’ll need five years as I may have sold both my properties by then.

Thanks for your help.

n r l a you have to do their fundamental course to be accredited and register cpd ( i do landlord law courses and use their cpd)

and then you have to keep your accreditation valid by paying them more money year upon year…

I doubt the Council has instructed you. They have probably suggested that you will get a discount on your selective licence if you do become accredited. Check with their website which accreditation schemes they recognise.

Lewisham’s website actually says…

Accreditation must be verified through membership in recognised associations such as the … or the ….

So that tells you where to go. However, bear in mind that accreditation with the latter involves you gaining 5 core CPD points and that you have to pay £55 and spend some time doing elearning courses. Not sure how much time you have to throw at that or whether that expense will offset your discount.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother in your case.

Any costs including my time incured by this RRB or other legislation will be divided up and added to my tennants rents, this is the 5hit5torm this govt have created.
