Constant frustration

Hi, i am becoming increasingly frustrated and depressed with teting to look for a new home. I have been served notice by my current landlord as he wishes to raise the rent to a level i can not afford.
I have been making enquiries about numerous properties since mid February and am either getting ghosted or being asked initial questions and then ghosted.
My circumstances seem to be shutting (well slamming) doors in my face at every turn.
I recently ( 10 mths ago) became a single mum to 2 boys age 15 and 8, strike one. I worknpart time, strike 2. I am in receipt of universal credit to top up my earnings, strike 3. We have 2 cats, strike 4.
I am currently paying rent on the property we are living in and all bills with no arrears, no complaints and never had an adverse property check by current letting agent.
Today i have reached rock bottom and had a breakdown in front of my children, i have even thought of starting to pack their belongings so they can move in with my parents and I make sure a will etc is up to date.
I have been in contact with council and local homeless officer who have negotiated assisting paying the rent on current property for the 6 months following expiry of current tenancy which landlord accepted. But as the tenancy will now be in my name only he asked the letting agency to do a tenancy refernce check which i have failed as they only take into account wages from employment and not universal credit, child maintenance etc as they consider those a temporary income.
I dont know where else to turn now or what else to do.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what i can do? And yes, for those going to mention the cats, my sons want them to stay but i am looking at alternative homes for them, i have one for the older cat set if it comes to it, i just need to set something up for the other one.

You need to go back to the Council to see if they can help you with something more permanent as you are going to struggle to find many private landlords who will let to you.

It’s really difficult for tenants at the moment.

You have kids, so the council will have to help you if your present Landlord evicts you.

So stay strong.
