Deposit certificate

Tenants deposit was protected by Openrent in 2019. I am now selling with the tenant in situ but being asked for a certificate which I don’t have. I wasn’t sent any details by Openrent other than it is on the dps scheme can anyone help?

I have been using Openrent RentNow since 2020 and have always received an email with the deposit information, which I save. The details are also downloadable from my login to the Openrent portal.

I do not know what the arrangements were in 2019, but might be worth checking your email back-up and view the tenancy on the Openrent portal.

OR or deposit scheme will have cc’d you when emailing the certificate to tenant after it was deposited.

Otherwise @mod_harry can help - I’m sure they or the deposit scheme can get you a copy

If you’re selling with tenant in situ, can’t you get your tenant to show you a copy of the PI you gave them in 2019?

You did serve the PI, right?

Openrent serve this as requested by the regs. Or at least they have since I have used the service in 2020.

Proof of that service is downloadeable from the tenancy info page on the Openrent portal, as well as the email sent to the Landlord at the same time.
