Was wondering if someone can help, the deposit was taken by OpenRent and setup in mydeposits.
I never received an account verification email, so have assumed it was all above board.
My tenant has now left, and I can;t think of a way to return the deposit. I’ve got emails confirming it’s all in there, but no idea how to return it?
Can anyone at OpenRent help out?

I dont know whether Openrent serve the tenant with the Deposit Prescribed Information and if necessary certificate, but if neither you nor they have done this, the deposit was not properly protected and the tenant could claim a penalty against you of up to 3x the deposit amount. The usual advice is always deal with the deposit yourself or you may be at risk.

Have you spoken to the tenant…they should have their own setup details with My Deposits. Alternatively, contact My Deposits directly.
The certificate and proof all exsit. I just can’t login to mydeposits.
I’ve emailed them for further assistance.
