Deposit - Tenancy deposit certificate

I use openrent and they protect my deposit in mydeposits. I need the TDC (tenancy deposit certificate). I’ve been in touch with mydeposits they say they only provide the prescribed information. the pre*scribed information is the only template for their custodial scheme members. Certificates are only issues to members of their insurance schemes as they do not hold the funds and so is used as a certificate of Insurance
Please advise if you have faced this issue?

why do you need the certificate? The PI is all the tenant needs along with the scheme’s info leaflet.

I need to produce it to court for the section 21 hearing… they’re saying I need a TDC tenancy deposit certificate

That will be the prescribed information

I have the prescribed information and the schemes terms and conditions! That’s all

And that, along with proof of it being issued which OpenRent will have emailed to you at the same time as the tenant is the only thing you need to prove yourself within the courts. Them asking for a certificate can be replaced with proofs.

Who is “they” in this scenario? The only legal obligation on a LL is to serve the PI and scheme leaflet so this doesn’t sound right at all.

The case was sent for a hearing at the court. The duty solicitor who is representing my tenant has said the DPC is missing.

You can send him the onformation from the scheme that you included in your post.

Thanks! Yes let’s hope that’s accepted
