Dishwasher is a deal breaker

It’s attached to the sink pipes so needs to be near all that plus a socket of course. But easy for a handyman to fix up. Hope it works!

It’s not the initial cost it’s the pat testing for white goods which is a pain. Electricians think the job is too small.

I let out a flat in London. I’m lucky. All my tenants have been well educated, intelligent and pretty decent. However, not a one of them could look after any of the white goods in the kitchen (even the cleaners say so). One was a professional chef with a restaurant in Soho. He managed to break the fridge freezer and oven by improper use. I am not inclined to put in a dishwasher seeing how the other appliances are treated - all mid market Bosch.

Marigolds, washing liquid, dish brush, sink, running water, drying rack and tea towel = dishwasher.

I suppose it depends on the size of your place and what sort of tenants are showing an interest in it… if its more of a bigger please and attracting families then a dishwasher may be a deal breaker as it makes it more quick and convenient for large families. If you have the space for one then it may be worth investing in one if its going to get your place rented, the amount you’ve lost with the void period you could have got a dishwasher. My properties have a dishwasher, but they are built in.
