EICR + Fuseboard

Hi, the current eicr for my one bedroom flat expires in three months time. I’m also thinking of updating the old six cartridge fuseboard. I’d be grateful for any advice about average costs and electricians near London, SE15, please.

literally just instructed an electrician to do this in NE of England so while I know it’s not your area, he quoted me 650 including the EICR

From Yorkshire, those prices all sound cheap to me. Depends on setup.

Labor to change a fuse board can add a lot.

Also if still have storage heaters, costs more.

I have used same electrician for a while as they come out quick if a problem, and will do other work at same time as EICR if asked. I know they charge more, but for me, the convenience is worth paying extra.

Thanks for the quick and helpful responses, guys. I now have a tough idea of costs. Access is easy so the fuseboard replacement shouldn’t be too difficult. Just need to find a decent local electrician…

EICR seems expensive and board seems cheap to me for those quotes.

Anyway, whatever the cost, it’s either spend the money on the house or give it to the government so…
