The tenancy agreement has come to an end. The tenants wants to stay in the property on a periodic agreement. I’ve had an email from open rent that their deposit will be returned. Why is it being returned? They aren’t leaving.
Is the deposit in an insured scheme? Does the scheme require the deposit to be reprotected for statutory periodic tenancies?
To my knowledge, Openrent do not have any control over the deposit once protected. I’ve used Openrent as a Landlord many times, and have never received such an email.
