How to check if the Openrent agent is legit

I got a reservation email from what appeared to be from Openrent. The landlor ( or who tryed to appeare as the landlord) said that the transfer is going to the agent. Yes I know… Sounds like a scam. But before I report it to the authorities, I was wondering if there is a way to check the agents name with Openrent.
I cant seem to find a custumer support number or email.

Agents are not allowed to use openrent.

This sounds like BS.

Plenty are scams pretending to be openrent.

What was originating email address? (Spell it out)

[scam/fraud email redacted for user safety]

As someone who never used Openrent before, I admit that it would be my fault if I would got scammed on this one.
Im just glad i did not go thru with it.

Yep it’s a scam.

Openrent emails come from something(at)openrent.co.uk

Can you confirm where you came across this advert / landlord?

FB marketplace
His reasonimg was, that He lives in Scotland, and uses Openrent for His property.
One we got to the point of deposit, etc. the “invoice” came from the above mentioned email address.

I’m afraid OpenRent can’t control ads on Facebook, and we don’t advertise there ourselves. All of our properties are visible directly from openrent.co.uk.

Some reports suggest 1/3 ads are scams on Facebook:

I’d urge you to report this to Facebook and the police.
