Hello all, just had a quick question about how to get the tenant to confirm that they’ve received documents such as right to rent, epc, gas cert, etc.
Is there a template that can be given to the tenant to sign or can I just informally type it up on a word document and get them to sign it to hold it as proof?
If you use Openrent RentNow, you can upload documents, and receive an email proof/ confirmation they have been served.
If not, a signature will be fine, or if allowed in your AST you could serve by email. you can also get recorded email services such as Rmail which provide prove of email delivery.
that’s what I do at check in. For stuff while tenancy is live, my AST allows serving of notices by email so I email with an attachment and ask them to reply to say that they’ve received it. I label emails per tenancy in gmail so I can quickly find it again should I need it.
You can add it in a clause that confirms they received the listed documents in advance of contract commencing
