I’m 3 months into my tenancy and the universe decided it was time for to part from my employer via redundancy haha. Obviously with no job equals no income; no income obviously means no rent money. Is it possible for me to be released from my contract under these circumstances?
speak to your landlord right away and ask.
Legally you are still liable to stay until the fixed term is up and pay the rent. But it’s not unlikely that your landlord will agree to end the contract early if you can’t pay anyway. As Colin said, speak with them as soon as possible. But do you have another place to live?
Can you not go online and apply for housing benefit ?
